NGBL members work on real-world projects as a way to apply what they've learned. It is important that our members pursue what interests them.
We provide education and training through what we call mini courses. These courses are short and practical, the same way that entrepreneurs learn.
Meet the club officers.
"I was born and raised on the island of Maui and will graduate with my Liberal Arts degree and my Associates in Applied Sciences in Business Administration (AASBA) degree in 2020. I graduated c/o 2017 at Maui High School where my foundation to learn business initiated. I joined NGBL to improve my business skills within the community and to develop professionally. I will complete my academic career and graduate with my bachelor's degree in Applied Business and Information Technology (ABIT) in 2022. My career goal is to become a local real-estate agent to sell luxury property on Maui and Oahu in hopes to take my experience and knowledge to the highly anticipated and competitive real-estate market of New York city."
"My name is James Taitague, and I live and work in Lahaina. I have lived on Maui since 2007. I mainly work in the service industry, and my goal is to start an environmentally friendly aquafarm. I am pursuing a degree in Business Administration and I have been enrolled at UHMC since 2019. I am Vice President/Treasurer and a founding member of Next Generation Business Leaders. In my free time I enjoy relaxing with my dog Molly, she is a Rhodesian ridgeback mix; and playing boardgames with my friends."
"Born and raised on Maui. Maui High School Alumni c/o 2018, graduated CTE honors for Business. Graduating from UHMC with an AAS in Business Administration and will continue on with my education in UH Manoa in Fall 2020 in pursuit of a BAS in Management. My goal in life is to be able to utilize my knowledge and skills in business to help those around the community. I believe that understanding the world of Business is a powerful tool and can help others. My favorite quote is by Les Brown 'Shoot for the moon. Because even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.'"
NGBL is a UHMC club that operates as a program for the nonprofit Business Leaders in Training.
